HIGHSHORE SCHOOL will be closing

for end of summer term on

Wednesday 23rd July at 1.30pm

NUT and Unison Industrial Action Thursday 10 July

As you may be aware from the media, colleagues in the National Union of Teachers and Unison will be taking industrial action on the 10 July.  The action (a one day strike) will result in class or whole school closures across the country.

I’m writing to inform you that we have taken the decision to close Highshore School for the day on Thursday 10 July on health and safety grounds.

This decision has not been taken lightly.  In this instance where staff have elected to take lawful industrial action we are unable to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of our pupils with a much depleted teaching and support staff.

We understand that this will cause difficulties for families and apologise for the inconvenience caused.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In the unlikely event of the proposed action being called off we will open the school as usual and will notify you of this.

We will confirm school closure on our website , as a recorded message on our answerphone 020 7708 6790 and by sending a slip home with pupils on the Wednesday evening.

Thank you once again for your understanding.

Yours sincerely
